Working in partnerships with families, NJS uses a strengths-based approach to provide highly individualised learning for students with a disability, Pre K to Year 4.

NJS belongs to the Newcastle School Community comprising of three age specific sites: Newcastle Junior (Pre K to Year 4), Newcastle Middle (Year 5 to Year 8) and Newcastle Senior (Year 9 to Year 12). Newcastle School's vision is to create lifelong opportunities by enhancing the development of each student's academic, social and emotional needs through innovative practice and by empowering students to achieve their personal best.
NJS is located in Hillsborough, on Awabakal land, and has students attend from across the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Hunter and Port Stephens areas.
