What we offer

Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.

Uniforms

When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.

Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:

  • meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation

  • includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics

  • is appropriate for the full range of school activities

  • is suitable for all body shapes.

Our Facilities

Newcastle Junior School is equipped with both spa facilities and a hydrotherapy pool that students access throughout the school week. These facilities enable us to provide for students with sensory deficits, behaviour disorders and help with anxiety and mobility issues. Students engage in activities relating to safe water practices as part of our Aquatics program.  The program allows students to experience alternative means to support their learning.

Having three buses at our campus allows students to access the community in a range of structured activities out in the community such as, shopping, recreational centres, parks, sporting events and Riding for the Disabled.

The Therapy Gym provides a safe place for students to engage in physical activity and sensory programs.  Inside is a ballpool, gym mats, climbing wall and flying fox.  The sensory room has a number of interactive switch operated activities including a bubble tube and an infinity tunnel.  The gym is used by all classes for a range of purposes and is designed to ensure safety and maximum enjoyment.
